Good Communication Impacts Leadership
Good communication is the bread of the leadership sandwich…it keeps everything together.
I remember the first time (nearly 30 years ago) that I had to brief a group of senior officers in the Navy. I was so nervous that my hands were clammy, my heart was skipping and I didn’t remember what I said after I was done. Ever been there? I lived through it but, at the time, it was horrible!
As leaders, we’re often judged by our ability to communicate a message. Further, if we want our teams to be on point, moving in the right direction, and motivated to get things done, many times, it relies entirely on our ability to speak with impact.
This week’s guest, Allison Shapira, has (literally) written the book on how to speak with impact. It’s releasing this week! She’s helped thousands get past their fears of being in front of a room of people and communicate a message that gets heard. We talk getting past the nervousness, how to craft a good message and how humor doesn’t always work cross culturally. She’s the bomb! I’ve been speaking for 10 years professionally and she taught me some stuff that I’d never thought of before. ENJOY!
