Are You Ready For Greatness?
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. – Martin Luther King
Way back when the world was young, dinosaurs roamed the earth and I kept all of my notes on post-its, a fellow Naval Officer shared her view with me on what the difference was between a good leader and a great leader. She said:
“Chip, the difference between a good leader and a great leader can be calculated in moments. The moments when a decision needs to be made and you can make one.”
It was great advice and advice that I’ve thought about (and acted upon) a lot throughout my life. We all face moments in life where something needs to be done.
My guest this week is Dave Sanderson. He knows about moments. On one fateful morning, the plane he was on crashed into the Hudson river and it was a moment in time that changed him forever. He shares the details of that ordeal with us this week and much, much more. We talk about the moments we all face and what we can do to make those moments matter.
I know you’ll love Dave as much as I do so ENJOY!
More on Dave…
Dave Sanderson is an inspirational survivor, speaker and author. His thoughts on leadership have made him an internationally sought-out speaker. When US Airways Flight 1549, or “The Miracle on the Hudson,” ditched into the Hudson River on January 15, 2009, Dave Sanderson knew he was exactly where he was supposed to be.
The last passenger off the back of the plane on that fateful day, he was largely responsible for the well-being and safety of others, risking his own life in frigid water to help other passengers off the plane.
Despite the hazards to himself, Sanderson thought only of helping others and emerged from the wreckage with a mission: to encourage others to do the right thing.
